I’ve always been a big fan of scents– I’m constantly burning through new candles, buying fresh blooms and trying new perfumes. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day coming up this month, I wanted to share some of my favorite scents in my current rotation. If you are planning on grabbing a new scent, or buying for someone else, it is good to focus on diversifying the types of scents you wear or buy. Pay attention to scents intensity, type and notes. I usually gravitate towards ones that are floral, woody, fresh/citrus, oriental, or a combination.
Best for everyday wear: Citrus with Cedarwood. Truthfully this is the first perfume I ever purchased, so I have been wearing it for a long time. It never fails and is liked my most. A safe bet for a gift
Best for going from day time wear to night: Fresh yet sensual. Slightly more sophisticated than D&G Light blue.
Best for the girls’ girl: fresh and feminine, yet innocence. Another sure win– I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like this scent.
Best for the no-fuss chick: This scent is light enough to be able to wear to work. It has floral notes of peony mixed with crisp citrus notes of grapefruit, which makes it smell very fresh and reminds me summertime.
Best for date night: This scent is sexy, for sure. A bit more towards the ‘woodsy’ category, this sent is fun for night time wear.
Best for something a bit different: I was totally sold this scent…and it has grown on me a lot. It is super sexy with wood notes mixed with amber, iris, jasmine and bulgarian rose. It is definitely a dominant long lasting scent, so best to try it before you buy it!
Best for the big meeting or an event: For me, I only wear very little of this scent. It is strong, womanly, yet powerfully sophisticated. It makes me feel a bit older, so it’s always my go to when I have an important meeting or work event.
